Diane Roe is a muralist, painter and printmaker working to educate and create experiences that raise awareness of human impact on the environment and natural systems.

She creates abstract large-scale compositions that are inspired by the long history of painting as material practice, and contemporary applications of it through graffiti culture. Her process is based on using graffiti engravings and organic engravings found in nature as a way of paralleling visuals created by human intervention and organic nature-made mark making. The critical environmental situation is a reminder that our individual impact creates a ripple effect and creates a current contemporary version of today's landscape. Therefore, through her large scale work, she creates an immersive impactful abstract experience on this issue. She has participated in some of the largest murals and mural festivals in Montreal (2018-2021). Her work has been presented at galleries such as the VAV gallery (2017) and Gamma gallery (2017). She has also participated in the Lawayaka art residency (2017). Diane is currently researching the idea of abstract landscapes.
